The MCU Phase 1 underutilized some of its scoundrel early in the franchise , but Marvel just showed how exciting one antagonist ’s return might be .

10Captain America’s 1940s War Costume

Captain America: The First Avenger (2011)

When Steve Rogers first becomes Captain America , he is frustrated to find himself doing USO shows in a bright patrician rig instead of fight on the front lines . However , that rig help oneself contribute to one of his secure aspect when he slap a leather crownwork and some bike goggles over it . In fact , most of Cap ’s outfits inCaptain America : The First Avengerare pretty iconic , including his cushiony courtship with the cherry straps that he wears later in the film . It ’s hard to believe Tony built something so functional in a cave , with a box seat of food waste - but sell this convincingly is a cornerstone of the firstIron Manmovie .

8Rhodey’s Original War Machine Armor

Iron Man 2 (2010)

TheIron Manmovies were teasing Rhodey becoming War Machine from the first meter he laid eyes on an unfinished suit , making it naturally intruding to suppose what his armor would count like when he last donned it . The armour did n’t disappoint . Itsextra bulk , minigun , and red eyes both limit it asunder from Tony ’s armorand made it look very daunting , while not divagate too far from the other Stark suits . Though it functionally was n’t the good thanks to incorrect Hammer tech , it still looked gravid and was one of the best parts of a somewhat dissentious film .

7Sif’s Battle Armor

Thor (2011)

In the comics , Sif was a character who was often given very lilliputian to bust , especially for a warrior . That meant it was very nice to see herclad in proper battle armor inThor . Her costume has some gaps in the armor that leave her to move more flexibly , and she also has unique pauldrons and bureau plate that are visually interesting but without reckon too airy . Sif ’s costume , like the other Asgardians ' , also does a good line of work of being believably from another world .

6Iron Man’s Suitcase Armor

Some of Iron Man ’s best costume are the one that are also innovative . The first of these to appear in the MCU was the suitcase armor that Tony used when Whiplash confronted him on the racecourse . Not only was the designing unique , with the enceinte flatware pricker , but it was alsofun to see how each part of the grip reform into the suitas Tony put it on . Iron Man 2may get a bad rap as a movie , but it emphatically made some serious decisions in the costume section .

5Black Widow’s Avengers Suit

The Avengers (2012)

Sometimes a simple-minded purpose is the best elbow room to go , and that was reliable when translating Black Widow ’s comic playscript kit to the big projection screen . The elusive credit line work on the suit helps give it a little more visual flair , as opposed to just being a flat smutty suit . Additionally , small sense of touch like Black Widow ’s radiocarpal joint accessories and red belt with the hourglass symbolhelp her depend more like her risible Word twin .

4Thor’s Avengers Armor

In the firstAvengersfilm , Thor was a fish out of water on the team , being the only one not from Earth . Keeping his costume big and enlarged really added visually to the sense that Thor was from another world . This helped keep each hero visually distinct andaccentuate what made Thor unparalleled . The costume also does a great line of ride the line between cool and cockamamy , make it both a great look but also intelligibly the target of Tony ’s derision early on .

3Nick Fury’s Classic Attire

Nick Fury may not have a big colorful costume , but that does n’t mean he is without a signature feel . His farsighted black coat and play off eye patch make him easy to pick out of a crowd . He has as much style as possible while still looking like a convincing comical Holy Writ tiptop spy . It helps that the interpretation of the fictional character the figure was hire fromwas in reality create with Samuel Jackson in mind . This meant the costume section already knew it would look good on him .

2Captain America’s Avengers Suit

avenger : Endgamemay have poked fun at Captain America ’s suit fromThe Avengers , but it ’s hard to deny just how exciting it was to see the first time watching the movie . The bright colors really popped , and he stood out perfectly in the iconic grouping flash in the middle of New York . It was dandy to see thatMarvel was disposed to embrace such a vibrant semblance palettein such a major flagship picture , instead of toning it down out of embarrassment of the source fabric . This lawsuit signal to fans that Marvel was all in on comic book truth .

1Iron Man’s Mark VII Suit

Of all the cherry and gold Iron Man suit in Phase 1 , his Mark VII suit fromThe Avengersis easily the most iconic in theMCU . It ’s very similar to the design of the first movie , but it is a little more angular in some blank space , and the extra gold high spot on the thorax and legs really avail make it look just slightly better . It ’s also a little bulkier than some of the new suits , whichhelps it find a little more real than some of the tardy designs .
