That is how Ozai think , in a strange way . In his own way , he believe he is parenting the best way he have it away how . He is trying to curry his son to be a successor , and he ’s seeing that his daughter is naturally equipped to succeed him . So he ’s trying to count on out who is going to lead this nation into the future .

In the originalAvatar : The Last Airbender , Ozai is mostly seen as a remote , albeit loom menace . It is n’t until the show progresses further that the audience is rightfully show the horror of the Fire Lord . Rather , viewers are told of his deeds through side characters and Zuko .
